Business Problem

Fellgo needed a website that could introduce a new way of experiencing Keswick while building interest before the app launch. The platform had to communicate its local discovery concept and show visitors what they could find, from walking routes and hidden gems to food, accommodation, attractions, and activities.

At the same time, Fellgo needed to attract local businesses and give them a reason to become part of the platform. This meant the website had to serve both sides of the concept, giving visitors a reason to join the waiting list while providing businesses with a direct route to register their interest and enquire about partnership opportunities.

About the project

Fellgo is a destination discovery platform created around Keswick and the wider Lake District. The website introduces visitors to the platform through local insights, walking routes, hidden gems, places to stay, food and drinks, attractions, activities, transport information, and other useful travel resources.

The project focused on building a website that could introduce this concept while supporting Fellgo’s pre-launch activities. Developed using HTML and WordPress, the website includes dedicated journeys for visitors and local businesses, along with early access signups, business enquiry forms, and supporting content that explains how Fellgo can help people plan and experience Keswick.

Projects Challenges

Fellgo required a website that could introduce an upcoming destination platform while speaking to both visitors and local businesses. The website needed to communicate a broad range of travel information without making the experience feel crowded.

Bringing Multiple Travel Categories Together

Accommodation, walking routes, food, attractions, transport, activities, and safety information needed to sit within one organized experience.

Serving Two Distinct Audiences

The website needed separate journeys for visitors looking forward to the app and businesses interested in joining the Fellgo community.

Building Interest Before Launch

Since the app was still upcoming, the website needed strong early access and waiting list journeys to capture visitor interest.

Supporting Business Enquiries

Local businesses needed a dedicated enquiry route with fields for business details, contact information, website, and partnership interest.

Communicating the Local Insight Concept

Fellgo is built around recommending this local perspective rather than feel like a standard tourism directory.

Preparing for Future Expansion

Although the initial focus is Keswick, the website needed to support Fellgo’s wider Lake District ambitions as the platform grows.
